ESPN Deportes Dream Job: Are you ready for World Cup Brazil?

This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and ESPN DEPORTES. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

So I was asked to be a part of this campaign for ESPN Deportes, and I thought “you know what?  why not!”  I won’t be going to Brazil for the World Cup… aunque ganas no me faltan, and well, since Anjelica is doing her 12 Giveaways for the 12 Days of Christmas anyway, this might be another cool addition for y’all.  A ver si you agree?

Let me try to be concise and short.  In a nutshell, ESPN Deportes is looking for a Social Media Corespondent to join their media team at the World Cup in Brazil next year (yes, I know, that’s awesome!) as the official El Reportero.  This person, which could be you or someone you know, will essentially the final member joining the network’s team of soccer experts in Brazil to report from the world’s biggest soccer stage, World Cup 2014.

This is actually the third installment of this campaign, and unlike in previous phases, this year the search will rely more heavily on social media for the selection of the winning entry.  That’s good news for those of you who have a lot of familia on Facebook, jajaja!  But in all seriousness now.  No really.  Seriously now.  In order to be considered for this #DreamJob opportunity you need to submit a 1 minute to 1:30 video online at www.espndeportes.com/dreamjob before December 16 telling the ESPN Deportes team why you have what it takes to join their team!

Beginning November 4, there will be six weekly challenges issued and eight finalists selected by December 20.

This week’s challenge is:

Identify an important happening in the soccer world between _____ and _____. Report on the event and why it matters. Time limit is 1:00.  (You fill in the blanks based on the happening you select)

Contestants will be judged by ESPN’s top sports commentators and production group on four main criteria: soccer knowledge, on-camera presence, reporting style and social media grasp.

The winner will be announced on April 15, 2014.

Oh yeah, and as your padrino of sorts, I was tasked with giving you a couple of tips on scoring this job.  Hence the video at the top.  I am serious about the invitation part in case you do win 🙂

So there you are.  Spread the word and submit your video today!
