There’s something about getting out of your home after you haven’t done so in a while that’s kind of refreshing. New almost, as if you’re doing so for the very first time again. Especially if we are talking about a social event where you will be around others. It doesn’t even matter if they are familiar or not. At least for me it didn’t last weekend.
I was a man on a mission… to share as many tacos and tequila samples as possible with as many people as possible in Houston!
A couple of weeks earlier I had been invited to host a couple of Taco & Tequila sampling events at a Total Wine & More location here in Houston to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month. Of course, me being me, I said ¡por su puesto! And that’s how I ended up shoulder to shoulder with lots of new and familiar faces last Friday and Saturday talking about Hispanic Heritage Month, Sauza Tequila, Hornitos Tequila, and the delicious tacos prepared by Cariño Taco Truck for all of us those two days.
You do the math. Tacos + Tequila + Friends. Well, let’s just say a great time was had by all.
My favorite tequila was the Hornitos Black Barrel, which is actually triple-aged, and pretty smooth all by itself. The salsa made with chiles de arbol was also pretty amazing! I love spicy stuff and this salsa definitely had an extra kick!
Now if you’ve never tried either Sauza or Hornitos tequilas, Hispanic Heritage Month might be the perfect time to do so. When we were at Total Wine they actually had both of these tequilas on sale. And each has several varieties to choose from.
So friends, enjoy the rest of Hispanic Heritage Month, with what else, Tacos & Tequila!
