Soñar Despierto

Soñar Despierto

Edgar was fast asleep today after a long day of school.  His first, after a… well, less than extraordinary summer.  This year, we didn’t get a chance to travel anywhere during the more than two months that he was at home for school break.  He didn’t get a chance to attend any summer camps, or even do much swimming for that matter.  It was a quiet summer for him and for us.

In the past, we’ve taken small trips across the state of Texas or even longer trips across the country.  This year, though, we just couldn’t manage to find the time or the ability to take even a small trip outside of our hometown.

So we literally had a stay-cation… ¡sin querer queriendo!

Oh well, ¿verdad?  Así pasan las cosas, sometimes.

Maybe next summer we can make up for it.

In the meantime, we still have a lot of great memories to hold onto.

And a whole school year para ahorrarnos unos cuantos centavitos for the vacation fund.  I hear Denton is beautiful in the summer.  And who knows, maybe by next year Peña Nieto will have brought peace to our México Lindo y Querido once and for all.

I believe that’s what you might call soñar despierto…
