Rita Moreno: On Life, Being Latina, Hollywood & More

an interview with rita moreno

Actress, singer, dancer and legend, Rita Moreno.

She’s truly Hollywood royalty.  A legend really.  But before Rita Moreno became Anita in the West Side Story, and the first Latina ever to be awarded an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony, over her long and successful career as an actress, singer and a dancer, she was just another immigrant in a new country by the name of Rosita Dolores Alverío.  Personally, I’ve always known about her as a legend, but that was pretty much it.  Her background story was something I’d only heard very little about.

Today, I’m pretty excited to share these series of interviews with Rita Moreno, which AOL and PBS put together and shared with me.  They are part of their MAKERS: Women Who Make America series, which aims to highlight and feature some of the greatest and most legendary women of our time.

I think it’s great Rita Moreno is on that list!

I just came across that series of videos from an article that featured Sheryl Sandberg. I did not know that Rita Moreno was also featured. Will be watching them.
